Pakistan reports 898 COVID-19 cases, highest in over 2 months

Lahore: Pakistan has reported 5 deaths from the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, as the number of positive cases has soared to 1,298,763. The death toll across the country jumped to 28,950 on Monday.

According to the latest data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 898 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Details of each province

In terms of death toll, Punjab province remains the most affected province, followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Till now 13,076 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 7,675 in Sindh 5,935 in KP, 967 in Islamabad, 746 in Azad Kashmir, 365 in Balochistan, and 186 in GB.

Furthermore 483,648 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 445,940 in Punjab 181,537 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 108,880 in Islamabad, 34,676 in Azad Kashmir 33,653 in Balochistan and 10,429 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

To date, Pakistan has conducted 23,608,645 coronavirus tests and 49,673 tests in the past 24 hours. The country has recovered 1,257,600 patients and 652 patients are in critical condition.
