Pakistan passes grim milestone of 29,000 deaths from Covid-19

Pakistan reports 554 coronavirus cases, 8 deaths in 24 hours


Lahore: As the number of positive cases soared to 1,278,114, Pakistan has reported 8 deaths from the new coronavirus in the past 24 hours. The death toll across the country jumped to 28,566 on Wednesday.

According to the latest data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 554 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Details of each province

In terms of death toll, Punjab province remains the most affected province, followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

So far, 12,957 people have died from the epidemic in Punjab, 7,599 in Sindh, 5,778 in KP, 947 in Islamabad, 741 in Azad Kashmir, 358 in Balochistan, and 186 in the United Kingdom.

In addition, Sindh has confirmed 472,519 coronavirus cases, Punjab has confirmed 441,378 cases, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has confirmed 178,773 cases, Islamabad has confirmed 107,198 cases, and Azad Kashmir has confirmed 34,495 cases. 33,356 cases have been confirmed in Luzhi Province and 10,395 cases have been confirmed in Kyrgyzstan Province.

Test and restore

To date, Pakistan has performed 21,231,524 coronavirus tests and 46,128 tests have been performed in the past 24 hours. The country has recovered 1,226,590 patients and 1,167 patients are in critical condition.
