LAHORE: Pakistan has confirmed 49 deaths in a single day by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 206,512. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 4,167.
According to the latest data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), COVID-19 of 3,557 people has been tested within 24 hours.
In terms of cases, Sindh has become the worst-hit province in the pandemic, followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balluchi.
So far, Sindh has confirmed 80446 coronaviruses, 74740 cases in Punjab, 25778 cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 10376 cases in Baluchistan, 12643 cases in Islamabad and 1,442 cases in Gilgit-Balstanstan , 1,049 cases in Azd Kashmir.
In addition, 1681 people were killed by the epidemic in Punjab, Sindh Province 1,269, Kuwaiti Party 922, Baluchistan Province 116, Islamabad 127, GB 24 and Azad Kashmir 28.
The quarantine centers of 462 hospitals are providing treatment for patients, where 7,295 beds can be provided.
Testing and recovery
Pakistan has conducted 1,262,162 coronavirus tests and 23,009 tests in the past 24 hours. The country has recovered 95,407 coronavirus patients, while 2,437 patients are in critical condition.
