Pakistan reports highest number of single-day COVID-19 cases

Pakistan reports 391 coronavirus cases, 9 deaths in 24 hours


Lahore: As the number of positive cases soared to 1,279,142, Pakistan has reported 9 deaths from the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours. The death toll across the country jumped to 28,584 on Friday.

According to the latest data released by the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 391 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Details of each province

In terms of death toll, Punjab province remains the most affected province, followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

473,052 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 441,631 in Punjab, 178,926 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 107,249 in Islamabad, 34,501 in Azad Kashmir, 33,383 in Balochistan and 10,400 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

To date, Pakistan has performed 21,318,930 coronavirus tests and 38,524 tests have been performed in the past 24 hours. The country has recovered 1,227,228 patients and 1,158 patients are in critical condition.
