Islamabad: Pakistan once again calls for a just, peaceful and swift settlement of the Kashmir and Palestine issues in accordance with the wishes of the people.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said at the virtual ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement hosted by Azerbaijan that this is essential to ensure lasting peace in South Asia and the Middle East.
He also expressed serious concern about the continued deprivation of the rights of self-determination of the people of Jammu, Kashmir and the Palestinians illegally occupied by India.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs also expressed Pakistan’s deep concern over the deteriorating security situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh area and called on Armenian forces to carry out intensive shelling of civilians in Azerbaijani villages.
He called for strict compliance with the principles and purposes of the UN Charter and the Non-Aligned Movement, including the avoidance of aggressive acts or threats. Respect sovereignty and territorial integrity; and non-interference in the internal affairs of others.
