Pakistan passes grim milestone of 29,000 deaths from Covid-19

Lahore: Pakistan reported four deaths from the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours as positive cases surged to 1,320,120. The national death toll had jumped to 29,003 on Saturday.

According to the latest data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 4,286 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Province details

Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths, followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Till now 13,087 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 7,693 in Sindh 5,953 in KP, 968 in Islamabad, 749 in Azad Kashmir, 367 in Balochistan, and 186 in GB.

Furthermore 497,153 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 451,408 in Punjab 182,100 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 110,597 in Islamabad, 34,739 in Azad Kashmir 33,684 in Balochistan and 10,439 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Pakistan has conducted 24,085,473 coronavirus tests so far, 52,522 in the past 24 hours. 1,263,005 patients have recovered in the country, while 709 are in critical condition.
