Pakistan coronavirus deaths surpass 1,067 mark as cases rise to 50,694

LAHORE: Pakistan confirmed 50 more deaths from novel coronavirus in one day as the nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 1,067 and positive cases surged to 50,694.

According to the latest data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 24,603 people have tested positive for COVID-19 within 24 hours.

Provincial details

Sindh remains the province most affected by the pandemic, followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

So far, 18,455 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 19924 cases in Sindh, 7,155 cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 3,074 in Balluchi, and 13,26 in Islamabad , 602 cases in Gilgit-Balstein, 158 cases in Azad Kashmir.

The quarantine centers of 462 hospitals are providing treatment for patients, where 7,295 beds can be provided.

Testing and recovery

Pakistan has conducted 445,987 coronavirus tests and 16,387 tests so far in the past 24 hours. The country has recovered 14,155 patients with coronavirus, and many patients are in critical condition.
