Pakistan, China agree to carry forward traditional friendship: Zhao Lijian


Pakistan and China have agreed to carry forward the traditional friendship and will never allow any force to undermine the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries.

This was made by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian at a regular briefing in Beijing today (Thursday).

When talking about the virtual meeting between State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, he said that the two foreign ministers have reached important consensus on deepening the all-round strategic cooperative partnership and political cooperation between the two countries .

He informed that the foreign ministers of the two countries exchanged views on further strengthening the security of Chinese citizens and institutions in Pakistan during their first meeting after the Papua New Guinea government took office.

Zhao Lijian said that friendship with China is a common consensus of Pakistan that transcends political differences.

He said that the Pakistani foreign minister reiterated that China-Pakistan friendship is the cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy and its strategic focus.

Zhao Lijian said that China and Pakistan will deepen practical cooperation in various fields.

China is willing to align development strategies with Pakistan and support Pakistan’s efforts to maintain economic and financial stability.

He said that the two sides hope to promote the high-quality development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor while maintaining the sound operation of existing important projects.
