Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Sunday regretted that the opposition parties are resorting only to criticism for the sake of criticism and lamented that they had inflicted distress on people, instead of providing any substantial relief, in their respective tenures.
According to a media statement issued on Sunday, he condemned the former ruler for merely protecting his vested interests and enticing the masses with empty slogans, adding that the masses hoped to take practical measures for welfare, rather than raising the slogans.
CM said that the coronavirus pandemic has adversely affected every class of society, and the Punjab budget has proposed measures to protect the interests of vulnerable groups.
He said that ordinary people have been granted relief through comprehensive planning, and no government in Punjab history has provided tax relief of Rs 56 crore.
Buzdar hoped that business activities will be promoted in the province with the provision of tax relief in the budget despite difficult circumstances. The CM emphasised that redressing economic difficulties of common man is the foremost priority of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government as undue expenditures have been curtailed.
He added that the PTI government is providing ease and comfort for the lives of every class of society. He mentioned that the province is carrying out various tasks according to its responsibilities. He added: “Our intentions are lofty and clear, and we are moving in the right direction. We will move more quickly on the way forward to serve the people without having to care about any criticism.”
