ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Friday has said that the opposition parties have faced once again defeat in the Parliament after the approval of Finance (Supplementary) Bill 2021.

In a post on the social networking site Twitter, the minister hoped the faces of the opposition leaders would disappear from parliament after the 2023 election.

He added that the 2023 elections will be the last for the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).

Earlier, Fawad Hussein said that the passage of the Fiscal (Supplement) Bill 2021 will not only address the financial difficulties the country is facing but also help in tackling the deficit.

In an interview with the media at the Islamabad Parliament Building, he said that after the passage of the bill, there is no obstacle to the current IMF program worth 2 billion U.S. dollars.

It will also provide Pakistan with a total of $5-18 billion in financial lines, he said.
