ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid said on Monday that opposition parties may continue their anti-government marches, but they won’t get anything out of it.
Speaking to media sources in Rawalpindi, the minister assured that no one would stop the opposition from holding protests.
Responding to a question about the upcoming local government elections, he said Pakistan Justice Movement (PTI) would be fully involved and hoped that it would also win.
He said the government had been successful in getting bills and motions through Parliament, with the opposition only facing defeat in the House of Representatives.
Sheikh Rashid further stated that the government was forced to turn to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
