LAHORE: The joint opposition has agreed to give chief minister Punjab’s slot to Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Pervaiz Elahi.
According to sources familiar with the development, the opposition parties have agreed to make Pervaiz Elahi the chief minister after the success of the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has assured PML-Q and a senior PPP leader has delivered a message of party leadership. The PPP also assured MQM-P with a motion of no confidence.
The government, on the other hand, claims it still has the full support of allies who will side with Imran Khan on the no-confidence motion.
Meanwhile, the PML-Q leadership convened a final meeting to choose between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the opposition.
