Karachi: The Federal Ministry of Health said on Friday that with the surge in Karachi coronavirus cases, the positive rate in the big city reached 10.25% because 650 people were found to be infected with the virus overnight.
According to statistics released by the Ministry of Health, Karachi has conducted 6,340 tests in the past 24 hours, of which 650 tests were positive, with a positive rate of over 10%.
Ministry of Health officials stated that the reason for the increase in Karachi cases was the outbreak of the Omicron variant.
Officials said: “Omicron is replacing other variants of the coronavirus, while cases of Delta and Kappa variants are declining.”
