Omicron cases rising in country: Asad Umar


Islamabad: Federal Planning and Development Minister Assad Omar said on Wednesday that the number of new coronavirus cases around the world, including Pakistan, is on the rise.

In briefing the media, Asad Umar stated that Lahore and Karachi are the cities most affected by the new version.

At the same time, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) Faisal Sultan stated that the current vaccine is playing its role against new variants and warned that unvaccinated people are more likely to be infected.

He advises people to vaccinate themselves against this disease, and to give booster shots when the vaccination period exceeds six months.

The Prime Minister’s aides said that people should continue to follow standard operating procedures.
