ISLAMABAD: The power shortage has reached 4,743 megawatts today (Friday), with people across the country facing ongoing blackouts.
According to the sources, the generation capacity was 20,757 megawatts, while the demand was 25,500 megawatts.
All major cities are reportedly facing power outages of 10 to 12 hours.
On the other hand, Jamaat-e-Islami announced a protest against the load shedding in Karachi. JI has decided to hold protests at more than a hundred locations across the city.
The party also hinted at a sit-in outside K-Electric’s headquarters if the situation did not improve.
