No decision taken for lockdown in Sindh: Saeed Ghani

KARACHI: No decision has been made on imposing a lockdown in the province, even as COVID-19 cases continue to rise at an alarming rate, Sindh Information Minister Saeed Ghani said on Saturday.

“The pressure on hospitals is not as bad as it was seen during the previous waves,” he said, adding that the Sindh government has “upgraded” hospitals and people have been vaccinated.

It is worth mentioning that the Sindh government has banned indoor dining in Karachi and Hyderabad.

All indoor gatherings, events and meals in Karachi and Hyderabad are restricted to February 15, according to a revised notice issued by the Home Office on Friday.

Outdoor events, however, will allow up to 300 fully vaccinated guests.
