Islamabad: The former chief justice of the Gilgit Baltistan Supreme Court, Rana Mohamed Shamim, on Monday dismissed the allegations of Pakistan’s former chief justice Sakibnisar.
In an exclusive interview with Dunya News, the former British Supreme Judge clarified that he neither requested an extension, nor did the Chief Justice of Pakistan have the authority to approve it.
Rana Muhammad Shamim further asked Saqib Nisar, according to which article of the constitution, he can approve the extension.
Earlier, Saqib Nisar said that Rana Shameem asked for the extension of the post of Chief Justice of Gilgit Baltistan, but I did not approve it. “He added, what can I say about Rana Shameem’s lies.”
Saqib Nisar said it would be unwise to record the response to every false and unfounded allegation.
On the other hand, the Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Chowdhury Favard Hussein, asked the Sharif family to provide financial clues for the purchase of the Avenfield apartment, rather than fabricating a story.
The minister said that he had read a strange piece of news.
He said that the Sharif family should not fabricate stupid stories and conspiracy theories, but should provide financial clues for the Avenfield apartment that was later handed over to Maryam Nawaz.
Fawad said that Maryam had claimed that she did not own any property even in Pakistan.
Later, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president and opposition leader in National Assembly (NA) Shehbaz Sharif said that explosive news story peels off a thick layer of a grand scheme employed to target party supremo Nawaz Sharif and vice president Maryam Nawaz.
In a post on social-networking website Twitter, the PML-N leader said, “Allah has His own way of revealing the truth. It’s yet another vindication of Nawaz Sharif and Maryam in the court of public opinion.”
