Muharram moon sighted, Youm-e-Ashur to be observed on August 30

Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman, chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, announced on Thursday night that the moon of Muharram-ul-Haram had been seen.

After presiding over the meeting in Karachi, Mufti Muneeb said that Muharram’s holy month will begin on August 21.

Therefore, Youm-e-Ashur will be observed on August 30.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has said that it is very likely to see Muharram Haram on August 20 (Thursday).

PMD said in a statement that the new moon of Muhammad (AH442) will be born on August 19 at 07:42 PST.
