MQM-P seeks registration of FIR against Sindh CM, police officers

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) has sought the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against the Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and senior police officers over violent action against political workers outside the CM House.

MQM-P committee member Mehfooz Yar moved to the Civil Defence Line Police Station and applied for FIR registration. Police battalion charges and tear gas shelling of political activities outside CM House have been required to be registered under the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA).

On January 27, MQM-P announced the submission of the First Information Report (FIR) to Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah following the death of its workers.

During the party’s sit-in outside the CM House, a worker was injured by police batons and tear gas, MQM-P convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui told a news conference at its headquarters in Bahadurabad.
