Opposition will blame third umpire if no-trust motion fails: Rashid

Long marches staged by opposition have no agenda: Sheikh Rashid

By

Rawalpindi: Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed says there is no agenda for the opposition party to stage the Long March alone.

He said at a ceremony in Rawalpindi on Wednesday that the opposition had already faced defeat in parliament and now it will also face political defeat on the road.

However, he said the government would not put any obstacles in their protests as long as they did not take the law into their hands.

The Home Minister said work on the Nullah Leh project would begin soon. Work on the Rawalpindi Ring Road project and the Mother and Child Hospital will also be completed.

A day earlier, the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) decided not to change the date of the Long March.

Sheikh Rashid had urged the opposition to postpone the march due to terrorist threats and a rise in coronavirus cases in the country.
