ISLAMABAD: An accountability tribunal on Tuesday dropped a case against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and other LNG ( LNG) referenced non-bailable arrest warrant.
Mr. Abbasi’s lawyer appeared in court to file a motion to have the warrant for his arrest withdrawn. The court had earlier issued a warrant for Mr Abbasi’s arrest as Mr Abbasi and his lawyers failed to appear.
Judge Nasir Javed had earlier issued an arrest warrant for Mr Abbasi. On the other hand, the court also issued an arrest warrant for the co-accused Uzma Adil.
Earlier, the Accountability Tribunal reserved its judgment on the LNG reference submitted by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to the former prime minister. The reference also named former finance minister Miftah Ismail and others, including industrial groups.
