Lahore: Light rain in the provincial capital Lahore and its adjacent areas in the wee hours of Tuesday turned the weather cold. The rain is expected to bring the level of smog in Lahore considerably down.
According to the British Meteorological Service, a strong west wind wave has entered the western and upper parts of the country and may sweep most areas on Monday night and may continue until Friday.
Met Office said that rain wind-thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is expected at scattered places in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, upper Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir during next 24 hours. Cold and cloudy weather is expected elsewhere in the country.

At the same time, the weather is cold and partly cloudy in most parts of the country, while the hilly areas have been very cold in the past 24 hours. However, some areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province have recorded rainfall. The lowest temperature recorded by Leh dropped to -9°C in the past 24 hours.
