LHC takes notice of rising pollution in city

By

Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) noted on Monday that the city is becoming increasingly polluted.

According to the details, it has instructed the vice chairman of the Solid Waste Management Corporation (SWMC) to submit detailed information about uncontrolled pollution in the city by November 18. LHC Judge Shahid Karim listened to the petition of lawyer Sheraz Zaka, who pointed out that no action has been taken so far and was based on the instructions of the court.

In addition, the chief secretary of Punjab went on to say that he was not informed about the lawsuit and therefore did not take any action in accordance with the court’s instructions.

The court expressed anger at the lack of a reply from SWMC, adding that pollution has swept every corner of the provincial capital. In addition, Lahore has become the most polluted city in the world and mentioned that the petition process will be held on November 18.
