K-Electric plans to transfer burden of Rs2.26b to consumers

Karachi: K-Electric has asked the National Electricity Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to modify monthly and quarterly electricity prices to transfer the burden of Rs 2.26 crore to consumers in Karachi.

K-Electric requires a price increase of 65 pizzas per unit in January 2020, an increase of 97 pizzas in February, and an increase of 48 pizzas in March.

KE also requested that the price of electricity be reduced by 62 paisa in April. It also requested a reduction of 11 paisa based on quarterly adjustments from October 2019 to December 2019.

NEPRA will hear the petition on June 23.
