PTI Chief files contempt plea against Pemra in LHC

Islamabad court again defers Imran Khan’s indictment in Toshakhana case

ISLAMABAD: The District and Sessions Courts in the federal capital on Tuesday granted PTI chairman Imran Khan’s request to be excused from appearing in the Toshakhana case, again delaying his prosecution.

Additional session judge Zafar Iqbal heard the case when Mr Khan’s lawyer Gohar Ali Khan and prosecutor Saad Hassan appeared. The hearing began with Gohar Ali filing a plea for immunity, saying doctors had advised his client to rest while recovering from a gunshot wound following the Wazirabad attack.

Mr Hassan objected to the plea, arguing that the PTI chief appeared at the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday, and he reached the courtroom on foot. He also asked the court to order the medical examination of the former prime minister by a team from PIMS Hospital.
