According to Agence France-Presse, Tehran prosecutor Ali Alkasimer said on Monday that Iran had issued an arrest warrant to US President Donald Trump and 35 others for the murder of senior general Qassim Solemani , And has sought help from Interpol.
On January 3, the United States carried out drone strikes in Iraq, killing Solemani, leader of the Revolutionary Guards Quds force. Washington accused Solemany of planning a planned attack by the Iranian allied militia against the US military in the region.
Alqasimehr said the arrest warrant was issued on charges of murder and terrorist actions. He said Iran has asked Interpol to issue “red notices” to Trump and the Islamic Republic for accusing other individuals involved in the killing of Solaimani.
Al Qasim said the organization included other US military and civilian officials, but did not provide more details.
He said that after Trump’s tenure ends, Iran will continue to pursue the matter.
A few days later, Iran retaliated by launching missiles at U.S. targets in Iraq. The Solimani crash put the United States and Iran on the brink of armed conflict.
