ISLAMABAD: The government on Monday expanded the scope of a joint investigation team to look into negative publicity on social media related to the Ras Bella helicopter crash and martyrs, including two intelligence agency officials.
The Home Office has issued a notice to form a six-member team from the FIA.
ISI’s Lieutenant Colonel Saad and Deputy Intelligence Director Waqar Nisar will represent the FIA and the Intelligence Agency’s joint investigation team will conduct the investigation under the supervision of the FIA’s Additional Director of Cybercrime, Mohammad Jafar. The team includes FIA Cyber Crime Director Vakaruddin Said, Deputy Director of Cyber Crime Ayaz Khan and Assistant Director Imran Haider.
A six-member joint investigation team from the FIA and intelligence agencies will identify those responsible for bad publicity about the helicopter accident and martyrs, according to authorities. The team will also find out who is behind these elements, or who is involved in a campaign to smear the country.
After the joint investigation team investigates, legal action will be taken to register the persons involved.
