Indian court strikes down criminal cases against 34 members of Tablighi Jamaat

Mumbai: The Aurangabad Judge of the Mumbai High Court swept a criminal case against 34 people registered in the Ahmad Nagar district of Maharashtra, including 28 members of Tablighi Jamaat.

A bench of justice TV Nalawade and justice MG Sewlikar remarked, “A political government tries to find scapegoat when there is pandemic or calamity, and the circumstances show that there is probability that these foreigners were chosen to make them scapegoats.”

He added that current materials show that the propaganda of so-called religious activities is unfounded.
