Imran Khan calls PTI’s core committee meeting today

PTI chairman Imran Khan will chair a meeting of the party’s caucus today to formulate the party’s strategy for the future after he is ousted as Pakistan’s prime minister.

Taking to Twitter, Senator Faisal Javed Khan said, “Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan will chair the core committee meeting of the party today insha’ALLAH.”

“Imran Khan will announce the future course of action.” The PTI leader ended his tweet with a slogan of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ [Long Live Pakistan].

Imran Khan is the first prime minister in the country’s history to have a no-confidence motion vetoed.

“174 members have recorded their votes in favour of the resolution. Consequently, the resolution for the vote on no-confidence against Mr Imran Khan, the prime minister of Pakistan, has been passed by a majority,” announced Ayaz Sadiq, who took the chair after the former speaker Asad Qaiser read out his resignation to the house.

The speaker adjourned the meeting until Monday, April 11 at 11am, following a speech by the opposition leader, which began with PML-N President Sheikh Baz Sharif.
