ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday rejected the verdict on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Faisal Vawda s plea against disqualification decision.

Faisal Vawda has challenged the Election Commission’s decision to disqualify him for life. The electoral board disqualified him for life for filing false affidavits in nomination papers.

Earlier, Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Athar Minallah heard the petition and reserved the judgment. Chief Justice Athar Minallah ruled on the petition and dismissed the petition against life imprisonment on grounds of inadmissibility.

At the same time, the court mentioned that Faisal resigned from the National Assembly and was appointed as a senator in order to conceal his dual citizenship. The electoral commission asked him to refuse to provide a certificate of his nationality.
