PESHAWAR: Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq said on Thursday that the government has the responsibility to negotiate with banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
At a press conference in Peshawar, the JI chief said that the people are not ready for more terror, adding that now if anything happens, the government will take responsibility. He said a government that cannot protect the people has no right to rule.
“A campaign against inflation has started, electricity bills are a big issue, WAPDA authorities are imposing 13 different types of taxes on people, all of which are illegal,” Siraj said.
He added that the country has no other system to operate other than an Islamic government, adding that the current rulers have not shown responsible seriousness.
