Hike in petrol prices shameful: Maryam Nawaz

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice-chairman Maryam Nawaz on Thursday called the rise in oil product prices shameful.

Inflation, lawlessness and terrorism are returning to the country during his tenure in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the PML-N leader said while speaking to the media outside the Islamabad High Court (IHC).

She added that Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan must be held accountable for every penny as his list of crimes is huge.

Maryam Nawaz said he (Imran Khan) was the only prime minister who took a helicopter from Bani Gala to PM House. She claimed the prime minister had done nothing but misused government spending to retaliate against his opponents.

PML-N leaders revealed that the PTI minister personally attacked her to please their prime minister. You are not the king of any country and we cannot condemn your actions. She clarified that if you do something that is not in the national interest, you will face criticism.

Maryam Nawaz further warned that the opposition would not let the PTI leadership leave Pakistan.

Earlier, the PML-N vice-president reacted on Twitter to the arrest of journalist Mohsin Baig, saying the homes of innocent citizens were searched for criticizing the prime minister.

“Imran Khan was not a man from the sky, citizens’ houses were searched and people were locked in bars because of his criticism,” she wrote on her social media handle.
