Lahore: Investigation report of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane crash near Havelian has been released after nearly four years of the fatal crash.
As per details, the report has held PIA engineers responsible for the crash which killed 48 passengers including religious scholar and former singer Junaid Jamshed.
The researchers said in the report that the fracture of the turbine blades caused a series of “complex” failures that eventually led to the fatal Havelian PIA crash in 2016.
The report said that one engine of the aircraft failed during the flight while the blade of the other engine had fractured during the previous flight (Peshawar to Chitral).
It also said that despite the broken blades, the aircraft can continue its next flight. The report also showed that despite the completion of 10,000 hours of flying, the aircraft’s engine overhaul was delayed.
