Govt trying to overcome barriers to ensure smooth investment in country: PM

Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan said on Monday that Pakistan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government is working hard to overcome obstacles to ensure the smooth progress of the country’s investment process.

The Prime Minister said at the launching ceremony of the China-Pakistan Business Investment Forum in Islamabad that when we start to promote the industrial sector, the country can also prosper. He added that it is not possible to feed the country’s finances by selling vegetables alone.

The Prime Minister stated that the Pakistani people are talented and skilled. After the relevant departments have adopted some advanced methods, they have achieved fruitful results in the field of science and technology. He said that we are very fortunate that we have a rapidly developing country and China is our friend.

Imran Khan said that the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will also focus on agricultural development. He emphasized the vertical development of cities in terms of food security and environmental protection. He said that Pakistan can also learn from China in terms of urban development.

The Prime Minister said that Pakistan has effectively and successfully responded to Covid-19, which has been recognized internationally.

When talking about corruption, Imran Khan said that money laundering is the biggest problem in developing countries. He said that every year, a large amount of money is transferred from less developed countries to rich countries.
