Fawad criticizes government for rising Dollar rate


ISLAMABAD: The dollar has climbed to the 193 mark when the entire government is in London, Fawad Chaudhry said on Friday.

In attacking the government, the leader of the Justice Movement of Pakistan said there was no water in Punjab, Karif crops were being destroyed and there were no people in the ruling party in Pakistan. He further added that to end the joke, establish an interim government for the general election.

On the other hand, the country is facing a severe energy crisis. Power outages can last as long as 8 to 12 hours in different cities.

According to sources in the power sector, generation was 20,757 MW, while demand was 25,500 MW.

Private sector power plants produced 11,717 megawatts, while wind power plants produced 535 megawatts. The Bagaasse power plant is producing 162 megawatts of electricity. Nuclear power plants generate 2,372 megawatts of electricity and solar power 114 megawatts. Shortages are expected to increase further as the weather intensifies.
