‘Enough is enough’: China attacks US at Security Council

By

United Nations: China lashed out at the United States for its criticism of the coronavirus at a high-level meeting of the United Nations on Thursday. The special envoy declared: “Enough!”

Two days after President Donald Trump used his annual speech at the UN General Assembly to attack China’s record, the U.S. ambassador to the UN also voiced an angry tone-after that, her Chinese representative showed obvious anger.

“I must say, enough is enough! You have created enough troubles for the world already,” Chinese envoy Zhang Jun told a Security Council meeting on global governance attended through videoconference by several heads of state.

“The US has nearly seven million confirmed cases and over 200,000 deaths by now. With the most advanced medical technologies and system in the world, why has the US turned out to have the most confirmed cases and fatalities?” he asked in English.

“If someone should be held accountable, it should be a few US politicians themselves.”

When talking about a sentence that American leaders often said to China, Zhang said: “The United States should understand that a big country should behave like a big country.”

With the enthusiastic support of his Russian counterparts, he said that the United States was “completely isolated.”
