Islamabad: Information and Broadcasting Minister Syed Shibli Faraz said on Friday that he has stepped up efforts to return to the former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supreme leader Nawa Nawaz Sharif, who is sitting in London doing political activities.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Friday, he said that Sharif is drinking coffee in London and is also in contact with Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, adding that the only person he is not in contact with is his brother and PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif.
The minister stated that the PML-N supremacy used illness as an excuse to go abroad, adding that he mocked the law and fled the country under the pretext of illness.
Shibli said that in September, FATF must make important decisions about Pakistan. He said that the opposition wanted Pakistan to be blacklisted, adding that they sacrificed national interests for personal gain. He said: “When a country is blacklisted, the currency is under a lot of pressure.” He added that things will become more expensive.
