ECP seeks briefing from govt on EVMs on Nov 15


Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has sought a briefing from the Ministry of Science and Technology on the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) on November 15.

According to the letter sent by the ECP to the Ministry, the committee has requested a detailed briefing and complete documentation of the machine prototype.

The letter stated that the technical assessment committee chaired by the secretary of the ECP would listen to the briefing.

ECP will decide on the EVM pilot project after the briefing. The committee is considering using these machines in the upcoming NA 133 Lahore by-election.
