Dollar rate slumps by 73 paisas against Pakistani rupee

The value of Pakistani rupee resuscitated in the interbank market on Thursday. It had staggered to all-time low of Rs178.24 on December 29.

According to data shared by the National Bank of Pakistan, the local currency appreciated 0.41% against the U.S. dollar in the inter-bank market. It recovered 73 paisa at a transaction price of 177.51 rupees.

In December, the Pakistani currency was under tremendous pressure, and the US dollar exchange rate soared by 2.98 rupees, breaking all records.

At the same time, in the open market, the rupee fell by 50 paisa to 180.30 rupees.
