COVID-19: Hundreds of Pakistani prisoners released by UAE

Dubai: Against the background of the general situation after the outbreak of Covid-19, the UAE government released hundreds of Pakistani prisoners.

Pakistani prisoners will be repatriated through two special flights arranged by the UAE government. They will take two special flights from Dubai to Faisalabad and Peshawar.

According to Pakistan ’s Emabsssy in Abu Dhabi, these prisoners were sentenced to probation due to the pandemic and the cause of Ramadan. They are serving their sentences in the UAE prison.

Pakistani officials said they expect to begin more flights to foreigners who wish to return to their homes next week. In recent weeks, more than 25,000 people formally requested repatriation.
