Coronavirus death toll jumps to 1,133 in Pakistan on first day of Eid-ul-Fitr

Lahore: Pakistan confirmed that another 32 people died of the new coronavirus within a day, because the number of deaths nationwide jumped to 1,133, while the number of positive cases on the first day of Eid has surged to 54,601.

According to the latest data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), within 24 hours, 2164 people were tested positive for COVID-19.

Provincial details

Sindh remains the province most affected by the pandemic, followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

So far, in Punjab, 21,645 in Sind, 7,685 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 3,306 in Baluchistan, 1,592 in Islamabad, 619 in Gilgit-Balstan and 197 in Azad Kashmir 19,557 cases of coronavirus have been diagnosed.

The quarantine centers of 462 hospitals are providing treatment for patients, where 7,295 beds can be provided.

Testing and recovery

Pakistan has conducted 473,607 coronavirus tests and 12,915 tests so far in the past 24 hours. The country has recovered 16,653 patients with coronavirus, and many patients are in critical condition.
