Lahore: Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar on Sunday has directed to take every possible administrative step for stability of flour and sugar prices.
In a statement, CM ordered legal action against people who raised prices according to their wishes. He promised that no one would be allowed to create artificial inflation in the province.
Usman Buzdar further stated that the national interest is our top priority. I hope to achieve results at all costs, he added.
After Chakki owners in Lahore raised the price of flour by 2 rupees per kilogram, they reacted.
According to the chairman of the Naan Roti Association, the new price of flour will be 70 rupees per kilogram due to the government’s failure to reduce wheat prices.
He said that the price of wheat in the grain market has exceeded Rs 2,300 per 40 kg bag.
On the other hand, the Muttahida Naan Roti Association also hinted that it would strike after Eid-ul-Azha.
