Chairman WAPDA resigns citing ‘personal reasons’

Lahore: The chairman of the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), Lieutenant General (Retd) Muzammil Hussain, on Saturday resigned from his post.

In his resignation to Prime Minister Sheikh Baz Sharif, the chairman cited “personal reasons” for the abrupt decision.

Mr Hussein was appointed by then-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on August 24, 2016, and in August 2021, the Ministry of Water Resources appointed him to the post for the second time in a row for five years.
