Police said on Friday that a 21-year-old mother-to-be who was allegedly raped died when her unborn baby was forcibly aborted.
According to the police, the incident took place in Ahmed Burdonthail in Bahawalpur.
The woman’s family has alleged that their daughter was raped for five months by a man “pretending to tutor her”.
They also claimed that their daughter received medicine from an earthquake, which caused a miscarriage and eventually death.
According to the woman’s parents, she was taken to the Victoria Hospital in Bahawalpur when she was critically ill and died there.
The police said that the four suspects had been registered for the case, and added that the main suspect and his three accomplices had escaped.
