204 new cases of coronavirus take Punjab’s tally to 5,730

According to the Ministry of Health of Punjab Primary and Secondary Schools, Punjab reported 204 new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 5730 cases in the province.

A spokesman for the department said that 95 people have died of the virus so far, while 1,380 people have recovered.

He said 22 coronavirus patients are in critical condition.

The spokesman said that so far, the province has conducted 75,229 tests.

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar said earlier that the province ’s coronavirus detection capacity has been increased to 5,000 tests per day, but will soon be further increased to 10,000 tests.

He said in a letter from Punjab to MNA that the country is facing a huge health crisis. He added that the provincial government has taken effective measures at all levels to respond to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Chief Minister emphasized the role of legislators in monitoring the government ’s response to Covid-19 and hoped that they would spare no effort to help the government cope with the epidemic.
