Rawalpindi: The Punjab State Public Relations Department said in a statement on Sunday that as many as 20 people have been diagnosed with the delta variant of Covid-19 in Rawalpindi.

The statement stated that the virus variant has not reported any loss of life in the past 24 hours.

After observing the rapid spread of the delta and an increasing number of countries reporting outbreaks related to this variation, the World Health Organization has classified the delta as a worrying variation.

It is recommended that citizens get vaccinated as soon as possible to prevent further spread of the virus.

“All government employees should submit their vaccination certificate by July 12 otherwise their salaries will be stopped,” the PR department stated.

The National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) today issued instructions to implement SOPs in high-risk departments, as COVID variants were reported before Eid ul Adha.

According to NCOC, they have initiated special measures to implement COVID SOPs in high-risk industries.
